About Eddie Buchanan
(that's me!)
The Sound of Solitude and Crafting Resonance

I'm genuinely grateful you're here to learn a little more about me and what I do. I've spent much of my life exploring music—as a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, composer, and producer. My musical experiences range wildly, from composing for ensembles like symphonic winds and big bands, to writing intimate solos and duets, as well as contributing to film and musical theater.
Authenticity has always been essential to me. I prefer organic sounds and strive to avoid computerized instrumentation or pitch-correction in my recordings. My music often blends careful composition with spontaneous improvisation, primarily centered around vocals and guitar. When it fits the musical vision, I also love incorporating instruments like trumpet, baritone, and trombone.
Around 2019, curiosity led me to develop something I call "Tempo Tuning," a compositional method exploring how tempo and pitch affect our bodies and minds. My first experimentation with this approach appeared on my 2022 album Tune to the Beat, and it continues to be an intriguing area of exploration for me.
I once thought about music as a full-time career, but discovered my creativity truly thrives in quieter spaces and solitude rather than through constant performances or touring. Although I have spent some years of my life in larger cities, I have continually found myself drawn back to country living. Today, I'm happily rooted in Lander, Wyoming, where I balance my musical projects with outdoor passions like hiking, canoeing, backpacking, and foraging.
Outside of music, I also enjoy designing and building, particularly using natural and alternative materials and techniques. This hands-on creativity inspires and enriches my approach to music-making, adding another layer of meaning and authenticity.
I've made a conscious decision to streamline my online presence to a few preferred platforms: my website, YouTube, and Spotify (though most releases are available on your favorite streaming services). I believe this allows me to spend more energy on creating and sharing music that truly matters to me.
Thanks again for being here. I’m excited to keep sharing this journey with anyone who connects with my music.
