Select Tempo (BPM) or Frequency (CPS or Hz), enter a value, and see the corresponding values side by side—then play the metronome to hear the relationships.
The formula is simply:
FrequencyHz = Tempobpm ÷ 60 × 2x
Clicking a table cell injects that tempo/frequency into the metronome for direct comparison of chromatically tuned intervals.
The colors lining the table row—and beneath each metronome value—map to those tones'/tempos' corresponding visible-light wavelengths in the range 41 octaves above Middle C. Lower octaves of a given pitch (and slower tempos) appear darker, but their hue remains constant through each doubling (2x).
Note names are matched to their nearest equal-tempered pitch in standard tuning (A4 = 440Hz) ±50 cents. Place your cursor over or touch the note-scale degree to see the percentage of deviation.
